This Group Work course is intended for:
Professionals who have been counselling for at least 12
months, or teachers, social workers, human
services workers who want to extend their
group facilitation skills.

To provide a practical skills course for professionals wanting to work with
adolescents in a group setting.

Practical Counselling
Skills for Beginners
This course is intended
for professional people who would benefit from practical basic counselling
skills and who have minimal or no training in this area e.g. those working
in the human resources, education, health or social services etc.
Course Profile: We will be taking a client-centred approach to
counselling using micro-counselling skills. We will be covering basic
counselling skills, and hands on supervised practice, and, most important,
intend to make it fun and interactive.
This course has been adapted to cover an ongoing weekly training over 4
months into 2 week-ends to accommodate people’s busy life styles. |

N.B. All those wishing to attend the above courses must either work with adolescents in a professional relationship and/or have counselling
experience |

N.B. As some parts of these training courses are of an experiential nature, please inform the trainers if you have experienced any traumatic events
within the last year.

Times:
Course commences at 9.30am and concludes at 4.30pm each day.
Tea and coffee will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch.
